There will be mile markers placed on the 5k course for the sake of those not wearing GPS watches and to confirm you are still on the course. These may or may not match perfectly with your GPS, but should give you a good idea of where you are on the course. The 5k includes out-and-back sections and two-way traffic.
Coyote Creek Parkway Terrain
This scenic parkway meanders along Coyote Creek for 15 miles. It features a paved multi-use trail popular with runners, bicyclists, rollerbladers, and hikers. The portion of Coyote Creek Parkway that we'll be using is paved and partially shaded. IMPORTANT NOTE: The 5k course has poison oak along the trail so all runners and dogs must stay on the paved trail.
Wheelchair racers are welcome and able to complete the course, but the occasional bumps on the path typically found on paved wooded trails will keep your speed under 10 mph. Jogging strollers are also welcome.
